The IPA is composed of three centers:
Center for Substance Abuse
Education
The purpose of the Center for Substance Abuse Education is to utilize the
findings of the Institute for the Prevention of Addictions and other research
institutions to disseminate current knowledge of addictive behaviors and research-based
prevention and intervention techniques.
Center for Drug Policy Research
The purposes of the Center for Drug Policy Research are to conduct research
on substance abuse prevention and treatment policies and facilitate the implementation
of effective policies.
Center for Prevention
Research
The purposes of the Center for Prevention Research are to conduct research
on the epidemiology of high risk behaviors, evaluate the effectiveness of
existing prevention programs, and design and facilitate the implementation
of effective risk prevention programs.
