BIOGRAPHY: David VanDenburgh represents one-third of the English department. His journey to this point is nothing if not serendipitous. After nearly three years of studying biology at Pacific Union College, he transferred to Andrews University to pursue his wife--and a new course in English. If you were to have asked him seven years ago, he would never have imagined that his change in venue and discipline would lead him to Andrews Academy and the opportunity to serve God as an English teacher. David's responsibilities include serving as sponsor of the freshman class and the school newspaper, The Sanjo. He also considers it a privilege to serve on the Leaders on Leadership Forum, an alumni-sponsored initiative designed to foster Christian leadership among Andrews Academy students. He and his wife, Carrie, have two young sons, Jakob, 4, and Joshua, 18 months.
