While teaching at MU, he completed a Master of Music in piano performance at AU in 1986.
In 1989 he accepted a position at Antillean Adventist University, Puerto Rico, where he worked until 1996. From 1996 to 2003 he continued to be active in music, directing the choir at the church, leading the Bella Vista Community and Academy bands, and serving as conductor of the Mayaguez Symphony Orchestra, a group he was a co-founder.
In 2003, he became director of the choir and string orchestra at Blue Mountain Academy in Pennsylvania, a position he held until June 2011 when he received a call to work at Andrews Academy.
Flores has been a guest conductor and clinician at several festivals in the U.S. and has toured with his choirs, bands, and orchestras many states around the U. S., and countries such as Panama, Venezuela, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Spain, Romania, and Hungary.
