what's new at Andrews Academy
The 2008-2009 school year has seen many positive changes at Andrews Academy, such as:
STAFF

Lynette Hillmon, Building Supervisor Lynette Hillmon joined the academy staff in November 2008. Previously she worked at Andrews University in Plant Service as part of the heating and cooling team. She has an associate degree in building maintenance and spent two years working for an electrician. She loves house remodeling and working with blueprints. She also enjoys working with wood, reading, singing and downhill skiing. She misses Montana! |
ADMINISTRATION

Tammie Lindsey, Assistant to the Principal Tammie Lindsey serves as the assistant to the principal, working especially with student attendance issues, and also teaches social studies. She is a practicing attorney from California and is curently studying at the Andrews University Theological Seminary. Students enjoy her lively civics and economics classes. In her free time she enjoys hiking, horseback riding and traveling. |
EQUIPMENT
- Six safety mats installed in the gymnasium, donated by Dana ('82) & Dawn Wales
- New chairs for the social studies classroom, funded by the letter-writing campaign and Lynne & Phillip ('83) Brantley
- Five new exercise bicycles for the fitness program, donated by Michael ('83) & Myrna ('85) Constantine and Daniel ('80) & Lynette (Stout) ('80) Reichert
- Twenty-seven Dell computers for the computer lab, funded by the letter-writing campaign and Michael ('83) & Myrna ('85) Constantine
- The first eBeam complete whiteboard set and new computer to be installed in the Math & Physics room, funded by Physics Enterprises, Unilever United States Foundation, Inc. and Lawrence Nelson ('64)
- Six classroom video projectors were purchased by the Class of 1982
- New globe—four foot tall, 79.5 inches in circumference, funded by the Class of 1975 to replace their initial class gift
PROGRAMS
Andrews Academy Advanced Placement Program, funded by Kevin ('83) & Arlyn Drew
Provides funding for current faculty professional enrichment and opportunities for students to qualify for advanced placement testing to receive possible college credit in their college of choice for a specific course.
