Position summary

Works closely with course design manager and team on the instructional design and support of K-12 online courses. Desire2Learn (D2L) is the current learning management system.  Provides assistance to course design manager in effective course and curriculum design for technology-enabled learning. Collaborates with administration in special projects and initiatives. 
 
 
 

Qualifications summary

• A Bachelor's degree in Education from a four year college or university and 3-4 years of related experience 


• Experience with Distance Education


• Experience with Graphic Design


• Certified Teacher

 
 
 


Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.

Duties and responsibilities

• Webmaster:  Maintains and edits the GIA website


• Course Designer: Creates/Uploads new courses in Softchalk/D2L


• Course Author Coach:  Coaches K-8 authors in writing new courses


• Public Relations: Makes presentations on GIA for NAD Meetings


• Committee Member:  Attends weekly K-12 Curriculum and Standards meeting and contributes to curriculum decisions.


• Course Author:  Writes courses as needed


• Technology Research:  investigates new software and programs that can be utilized in distance education


• Administrative Assistant: Collaborates with administration on special projects and intiatives


• GIA Team Member:  Works with the team to solve, create, and guide the future of GIA and does work that is requested by supervisor.

Technical competencies

• Proven working knowledge of PhotoShop, SoftChalk, Adobe Acrobat Pro


• Preferred knowledge of DreamWeaver, InDesign and Desire 2 Learn
