The Graduate Admissions Coordinator performs all functions of the university admissions and enrollment process for graduate programs.

Duties and responsibilities


  1. Manage the daily operations of the admission process.

  2. Manage applications logistic from prospective students to enrolled students.  

  3. Manage communications with prospective and current students.

  4. Plan and execute integrated communication plan that affects recruits, applicants, accepted and enrolled students. 

  5. Provides a high level of personalized service to recruits and applicants. Gathers information on graduate inquiries and inputs into databases for mailings and communications. Educates prospective graduate students regarding admission policies and procedures.

  6. Serves as the primary contact for developing relationships with prospective students, and moving prospects through the admission processes and to enrollment through extensive personal contact.

  7. Counsels prospective students, applicants, and current students on graduate admissions processes, graduate programs, and Andrews University culture.

  8. Maintain active communication with Schools and department representatives to facilitate services for applicants, accepted and enrolled students. This includes providing prospect and applicant data to academic departments when appropriate.

  9. Plan, attend and assist with recruiting promotional events.

  10. Assist with any graduate recruiting events held on campus.

  11. Prepare applicant files for admissions committee review.

  12. Track ongoing processing changes and update the execution of the admissions process.

  13. Accurately enter graduate application data into the Banner database.

  14. Process Guest student’s applications, change of status, deferrals and all other processes alike for prospective and current students.

  15. Develop and maintain accurate records (vault) of prospective and current students.  

  16. Manage the prospective graduate student’s campus visits in alliance with campus visit’s office.  

  17. Prepare reports regarding applicants, accepted and enrolled students.  

  18. Make determination regarding the documents applicant’s needs in order to perform a credential evaluation.

  19. Analyze and decide when applicants’ files are ready to be sent to department for admission decision.

  20. Fulfill other duties and responsibilities as needed or as assigned by Director of Graduate Enrollment.



Supervisory responsibilities


  1. Manage student workers and oversee their daily activities. 

  2. Assist with the training of student workers.
