Position summary

Research assistant will check documentation for bibliographic references cited in a theological work and correct inaccuracies in all quotations and paraphrases. A short-term project with flexible hours.

• Seminary student preferred


• Self-motivated, able to work independently

Duties and responsibilities

• Identify all citations to published works throughout the manuscript


• Confirm accuracy and completeness of bibliographic references cited


• Correct inaccuracies in all quotations


• Confirm that paraphrased statements are thorough rewrites of original quotations

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled Andrews University student


• Excellent written communication skills


• Advanced understanding of English grammar and punctuation


• High level of attention to detail and quality of work


• Observant of discrepancies in text


• Familiar with the James White Library


• Experience with use of theological reference works


• Knowledgeable of Seventh-day Adventist theology


• Able to work independently
