Qualifications summary

• Seventh-day Adventist in regular standing


• A passion for working with teens and health/fitness


• Demonstrated ability to make appropriate connections with young people


• Effective pedagogy, inerpersonal, and communication skills


• Experience and engagement with both indoor and outdoor physical activities


• Knowledge of fitness and exercise trends and studies


• Knowledge of wide range of sports


• Ability to work collaboratively with principal, faculty, students, parents, Andrews University, local churches, and community


• Masters degree preferred


• Teaching experience and certification preferred

Duties and responsibilities

• Andrews Academy seeks a physical education teacher who models the love of Christ and inspires students to grow spiritually and become physically fit


• Provide a physically and emotionally safe environment in which young people can become more confident in their abilities and their Creator


• In addition to teaching classes, lead vibrant intramural and school-wide fitness programs

Masters degree preferred


Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.

Able to enter grades on our grading system

Must be comfortable interacting with students.
