Position summary
Assistant Professor of Political Science will teach political science courses in the department of History and Political Science department, advise students and participate in University and College committees.
Qualifications summary
Ph.D in Political Science preferred at the time of appointment, but ABD applicants with evidence of anticipated completion will be considered. Some teaching experience preferred.
Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.
Duties and responsibilities
- Teach a 4/4 load (lower and upper division political science courses)
- Advise students in the major
- Participate in University and College committees as assigned
- Engage in their profession through professional organizations, conference participation and an active research agenda.
- Some mentorship of undergraduate research is expected.

Work environment
The work environment includes a private office within a department common room. It is typically quiet. Beyond what is found in a typical office environment there is little exposure to outdoor conditions, although Professors at times must walk between buildings for teaching purposes.
