Position summary
Appointment faculty will teach courses in the Engineering and Computer Science department, advise students and participate in University and College committees.
Qualifications summary
The successful candidate will qualify in terms of their excellence in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, both in teaching and research, and will be characterized by collegiality, ethical behavior, commitment to student engagement and a spiritual nurture.
Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.
Duties and responsibilities
- Teach courses (Lecture and Labs) each semester, within the prescribed curriculum (load according to policy).
- Establishing a productive research program – preferably including undergraduate students and publish finding in professional journals.
- Academic, Professional, Career and Co-Curricula advising and recruitment
- Serves on faculty committees
- Participate in the development and accreditation of academic programs
Supervisory responsibilities
Supervising research, teaching, learning and laboratory assistants
Qualifications
- PhD in Electrical Engineering preferred.
- Demonstrated commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching with an understanding of undergraduate learning practices, methodologies and application in the context of engineering education. College/University teaching experience preferred.
- Active research that inspires and engages undergraduate students
- Post-doctoral experience in Electrical/Electronic Engineering preferred.
- A command of both the written and spoken English Language
- Commitment to Seventh-day Adventist beliefs and mission

Physical demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be responsible for carrying, handling, and operating a computer, laboratory equipment, and teaching technology equipment. Must have the ability to efficiently access information in references and texts, prepare present lectures, and lead out and participate in group discussions and work. Visual demands regularly include close work.
