Position summary
Proactively works to create and execute strategic undergraduate, graduate and discipline specific enrollment marketing and communication initiatives to position Andrews University as the university of choice. This is achieved through collaboration with key enrollment and academic personnel to develop and execute strategic solutions to help ensure achievement of defined enrollment goals for Andrews University.
Qualifications summary
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or related fields
- Two or more years experience in marketing and/or higher education preferred
Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.
Duties and responsibilities
Repetitive Duties
- Create annual calendar of enrollment marketing projects that will serve as the foundation for overall enrollment marketing initiatives.
- As appropriate, assess and respond to additional enrollment marketing initiative requests through consultation, guidance, project initiation and management.
- Directly collaborate with and supervise, as appropriate, the Distance Education Marketing Strategic Leader to best understand points of connection and to assure synergy between on-campus and distance education enrollment marketing initiatives.
- Be responsible for understanding, setting and communicating enrollment strategies and approaches. (PROACTIVE)
- Provide ongoing reports to appropriate IMC and enrollment support staff across campus regarding enrollment marketing projects and priorities. (REACTIVE)
- Encourage, support and develop campus-wide understanding and use of enrollment marketing strategies.
- Respond to emails and voice messages.
- Process invoices for promotional material, contracts, vendors and other enrollment marketing-related expenses.
- In collaboration with traffic manager, develop and maintain effective tracking system for prospective, existing and long-term enrollment marketing projects.
- Other general supervisory and managerial responsibilities.
Periodic/Regular Duties
- Play an active role in appropriate IMC meetings.
- Lead out or participate in appropriate enrollment meetings including, but not limited to:
- Enrollment Leaders’ Meeting
- Graduate Enrollment Management Meeting
- Marketing Communication and Tools Collaboration: Discussions/meetings with appropriate undergraduate enrollment staff
- Establish and chair campus-wide enrollment-focused marketing/communication council (undergrad, grad, distance, discipline specific; also consider alumni and related supporting functions on campus)
- Seek strategic direction from university administration (President & Provost and appropriate deans and VP’s) regarding enrollment marketing priorities and needs
- Monitor and provide marketing guidance to academic areas across campus.
- Within the context of agreed-upon campus priorities, develop and execute all general and/or targeted undergraduate and graduate enrollment marketing & communication strategies (both general and discipline/s specific) for Andrews University.
- Proactively meet with key partners from academic and staff arenas across campus to continue to best understand enrollment marketing needs and expectations (again in general and specific ways).
- Set and manage designated marketing-related budgets.
- Place enrollment and related advertisements in local, regional and church outlets.
- Monitor the enrollment marketing presence of peer educational institutions inside and outside the Seventh-day Adventist denomination.
- As appropriate, there will be project and event assignments connected with enrollment activities, such as:
- First Stop/New Student Seminar
- University Preview
- Online preVue tool
- Virtual Tour
Non-Periodic/Irregular Duties
- Create, execute and manage large-scale enrollment marketing campaign and communication to connect with and attract prospective students using print, web, social media tools & other channels.
- Identify and work with vendors to supply promotional materials for university.
- Adjust enrollment marketing & communication strategies to meet changing demands in market place.
- Identify and work with external consultants to ensure best practices and latest techniques are being used at Andrews University to increase enrollment.
- Evaluate opportunities and coordinate the positioning of Andrews University at various events, locally to internationally.
Supervisory responsibilities
Position interacts with, defines and fulfills strategic marketing assignments in collaboration with Enrollment Management team.
Supervises student employee(s).
Qualifications
Must have understanding of higher education marketing principles and effective communication technology and tools to effectively target and enroll potential student markets.
An expanding knowledge of the expectations of those target markets, which tools and communication media are required, and which distinctive strengths Andrews University has to offer these students require ongoing study and growing expertise.
Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.

Interaction with Integrated Marketing & Communication team and its various resources (ie web, design, photography)
Collaboration and communication with schools, colleges and individual academic departments across campus in creating enrollment marketing materials and resources.
Physical demands
Must be able to lift, move and organize heavy boxes of marketing materials (t-shirts, notebooks, pens, etc).
Work environment
Collaborate and work in multiple offices, including assigned office in Integrated Marketing & Communication, and collaborative work space in Enrollment Management.
Relatively noisy work environment with multiple interruptions.
