Position summary

Work independently and in teams to physically clean 18-21 guest rooms, and surrounding common areas, as well as guest room laundry.
This person should have an out-going personality with a service-minded character of putting others first. 
Employees are needed Sundays-Fridays, with some on-call time possible on a rotation basis. Schedules will be set by supervisor as coordinated with students' classes. The bulk of the room turning work will happen between guest Check-Out time at 11am and Check-In at 5pm.

Qualifications summary

Must be at least 18 years old, have a valid US Driver’s License to drive a golf cart, have an eye for detail and be motivated to work quickly and diligently even if working alone.
Must be trustworthy to complete tasks to the standard of cleanliness required. Cleaning work experience is a plus.
Must be meticulous in communicating to supervisor, and others in housekeeping team, that jobs have been completed by filling in a printed checklist, and by marking rooms clean on paper as well as in the computer.
Must be able to communicate via radio while working (no headphones).               

Duties and responsibilities

Duties will include working with chemicals and machines Sunday-Friday to do laundry and clean rooms, conference room, hallways, bathrooms, floors, windows, appliances, and carpets in guest hallways.
Services and changes towels/bedding for occupied guest rooms daily.
Keeps cabinets stocked with guest supplies daily at the Front Desk.
 

Supervisory responsibilities

May occasssionally help train in new employees or supervise team, if asked, in the absence of the Head Housekeeper.

Qualifications


  1. A passion for Customers and Customer Service required.

  2. Attention to detail, thoroughness, and an eye for cleanliness.

  3. Reliabilitiy to report to work as scheduled. Supervisor reserves the right to release employees from duty early on light days.



Technical competencies

Ability to communicate in English and follow verbal and written instructions.
Minimal computer work required to check room status, print daily report, and mark rooms clean.

Interpersonal interactions


  1. Ability to speak and communicate in English

  2. Ability to speak a second language is a plus

  3. Must be comfortable interacting with guests, residents, and staff of the building, working in teams, alone, and taking instruction from other co-workers functioning in a supervisory capacity.



Physical demands


  1. Must be able to bend over, twist, and work on hands and knees to perform cleaning duties

  2. Must be able to move quickly, lift, carry up-to 50lbs on a regular basis, fold laundry, push/pull small machines, have full range of motion in all limbs, navigate stairs, and do physical labor through-out entire shift.



Work environment

Strive to maintain a quiet peaceful guest hallway. Some duties may be time-sensitive for that reason.
