Job Classification
Position summary
The Music Director is repsonsible for maintaining the music library and the music software. This includes processing new CDs into the collection, entering each selection into the music database with proper coding, generating playlists, and making corrections noted on the playlists by the announcers. The Muisic Director would also do an airshift each weekday and be available for scheduled holiday shifts and special station events.
Qualifications summary
Skills for dealing with the public are critical. The Music Director should be knowledgeable about classical music and have some basic radio skills. A minimum of a bachelor's degree is required.
Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.
Duties and responsibilities
- Process new CDs into the collection
- Generate playlists
- Make corrections to the existing database as needed
- Perform a daily airshift (weekdays and scheduled holidays)
- Participate in special station events

None
Qualifications
Knowledge of classical music; some radio experience; ability to use computers and the music database; a minimum of a bachelors degree in any subject area. English must be the primary language.

Technical competencies
Able to use and maintain the music database; able to use broadcast equipment to sucessfully perform an airshift; good people skills.
Interpersonal interactions
Must be comfortable answering questions from the public; must be able to be a collegial member of the WAUS team.
Physical demands
No extraordinary physical demands.
Work environment
Quiet work environment; will be expected to use headphones during airshift.
