Michiana Adventist Forum Presents: Creation in Scripture

Saturday, Feb. 9
3:30 p.m., Garber Auditorium in Chan Shun Hall

Michiana Adventist Forum presents "Creation in Scripture" by Dr. Herold Weiss, Professor Emeritus of Religious Studies, Saint Mary’s College, on Sabbath Afternoon at 3:30 p.m., February 9, 2013, in the Garber Auditorium in Chan Shun Hall on the campus of Andrews University.

Dr. Herold Weiss will be discussing the recent book "Creation In Scripture."  This book surveys what the Bible writers say about Creation throughout the Old and New Testaments.  It argues that it is important to understand the entirety of the Biblical evidence on creation. It examines Creation in the Wisdom Literature, The Psalms, Romans, the Corinthian Correspondence, Colossians, Hebrews and the
Apocalypse as well as in Genesis.

Dr. Weiss encourages us to read the book beforehand.  It is available in paperback from Amazon and in electronic form for the Nook and the Kindle.

A native of Montevideo educated in Argentina and in the United States, Dr. Weiss is professor emeritus of religious studies at Saint Mary's College in Notre Dame, Indiana. For many years he was also an affiliate professor of New Testament in the Hispanic program of Northern Baptist Theological Seminary. During the 1960’s he was on the faculty of the SDA Theological Seminary at Andrews University.  Currently he
is responsible for the Spanish language section of the Spectrum website.  He lives in Berrien Springs, Michigan, where he is an active member of the Berrien Springs Spanish SDA Church.

Weiss is author of Paul of Tarsus: His Gospel and Life;  A Day of Gladness: The Sabbath Among Jews and Christians in Antiquity; Cross-Cultural Paul: Journeys to Others, Journeys to Ourselves; and Finding My Way in Christianity: Recollections of a Journey.

Adventist Forum is open to the public.  All are welcome.  For information, contact Art Robertson at robertsa2@earthlink.net or call 269-471-7150.
