A Change in the Dining Service's Sabbath Policy
Guests of Dining Services,
As a result of a partnership between the Administration of Andrews University and the Dining Services Management Team seeking to more properly honor the Sabbath Day, cash transactions on the Sabbath will no longer be an option in Dining Services after October 26, 2013.
As always, we offer the option to purchase pre-paid Café Cards to all of our guests to allow them to prepare ahead for dining in the café on Sabbath. These cards are available in any amount and can be purchased through the Dining Services Office or the Cashier station during the week.
The Sabbath is a special and holy day, set apart from all other days of the week, and this partnership seeks to not only honor the day, but to provide the ability to prepare in advance. We know that our guests view the Sabbath as a treasured time of the week and a central component of their faith. These choices strengthen and bond us together as a faith community. We will continue to accept credit and debit cards for our guests who have traveled to visit our campus, but their use is discouraged.
When you decide to acquire your Café Card, please visit the Dining Services Office Monday - Thursday 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM or on Friday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. You may also call us at 269-471-3161.
We appreciate your understanding and your support and look forward to continuing to serve you for all your dining needs. Your questions or concerns are welcomed and can be answered by contacting the number above.
Blessings to you,
Andrews University Administration
