Buchanan First United Methodist Church Volunteer Projects

Every year millions of volunteers participate in community projects on Make a Difference Day – the largest national day of service. This year volunteers from across Michiana are invited to Buchanan, MI on October 26th to participate in one of 2 projects.

Project  1:  City of Buchanan – Plant for the Future!
Volunteers will plant 75 Heritage Trees along the McCoy Creek Watershed.  These trees will protect the local water supply and keep the creek flowing.  Sign up to volunteer from 9 a.m. – noon or 2:00 – 5 p.m.

Project  2:  Buchanan Community Schools – Support Education!
Volunteers will do the fall landscaping clean up at Ottawa Elementary or do a painting project at the school farm.  The School Farm is a unique educational asset for Buchanan Students.

For all activities volunteers should dress for the weather and, if possible, bring work gloves and tools in case extras are needed.   Volunteers from across Michiana are invited, and needed, to accomplish these projects.  Families are welcome!
