and Psychological Maturity

Presented by

and

Chan Shun Hall
Andrews University

Dr. Coffen has provided a preview of their presentation:

Religious educators at the elementary, high school, and college levels are concerned with the religious identity development of their students. We will explore a theory of general identity development (based on Erik Erikson’s theory of psychosocial development) and illustrate similar processes for religious identity development. We will analyze doubt as an essential factor for successful religious identity achievement. We hope to end with a discussion of potential educational interventions to create school environments that promote, rather than inhibit, religious identity development.
