A Request from Adventist Forum

Dear supporter,

For the last ten years, the Michiana Adventist Forum has been sponsoring scholarly presentations, thought-provoking discussion, and even occasional debate, with featured scholars and researchers from both the local area and further abroad.

In the past, we largely arranged for speakers who were in town and on someone else’s travel budget, since we were working on such a “shoe string” budget. In order to provide the richest intellectual experience possible, we now occasionally also arrange for speakers who require travel and lodging compensation. These new travel costs, along with the rental fees for equipment and venue, make up the majority of our expenses. Last year, however, the Forum Board voted to expand our operation by paying a $250 honorarium for each program presented as a gesture of gratitude. With these new policies in place, our expenses began exceeding the occasional contributions received. Accordingly, we are now writing to ask for your assistance in covering the costs of the Michiana Adventist Forum’s continued operation.

Though we have enjoyed the past ten years of intellectual enrichment from the Michiana Adventist Forum with minimal outlay of funds, the Forum’s continuation at the same level of excellence depends upon our willingness to support this program as a team. We encourage you at this time to consider making a tax-deductible gift to the Michiana Adventist Forum in order to enable it to continue as a major intellectual medium within our academic community.
