Addiction Recovery Program Coming to Dowagiac

   Agenda | Posted on January 13, 2015

The Dowagiac Seventh-day Adventist Church announces plans to provide recovery help for people challenged by harmful habits and addictions.  An introduction to Christ-centered recovery through The Journey to Wholeness 12 Step program will be presented at the church, Saturday, January 17, at 2:00 p.m.  Carrying the message and helping others through such a program will be theme of Ray Nelson's presentation, titled "Whatever It Takes."

All who attend will be blessed with greater understanding concerning the value of 12 Step addiction recovery meetings such as Alcoholics Anonymous.  The meetings provide resources for people who need strength to break free from obsessive thinking and compulsive behaviors which lead to harmful habits and addictions.  The power of any and all addictions (food, drugs, sex, gambling, shopping, etc.) can be broken through the Higher Power of Jesus Christ.

At 10:50, Nelson will be preaching.  His morning sermon is, "Where Is the Power?"  Family and friends of the Adventist Church and the recovery community are welcome to attend and participate in either or both of these presentations.  There is a free lunch planned between the two sessions.

The Dowagiac Seventh-day Adventist Church is located at 410 Hill Street.
