Biography:
David Alonso is associate professor of chemistry at Andrews University, Berrien Springs, Mich. He joined the Andrews faculty in 1992. 

Born in Fort Riley, Kansas, Alonso graduated from Andrews with a bachelor of science degree in chemistry in 1988. He received a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Notre Dame, South Bend, Indiana, in 1993. The title of his dissertation is "Methods for the Specific Generation of Substituted Homotrimethylenemethane Diradicals."

Dr. Alonso is a member of the American Chemical Society and Sigma Xi and teaches courses in chemical separations and analysis.

He is married to Shirley M. Alonso. They have three daughters.
