BA: Communication

The BA in Communication teaches you to be an expert communicator in diverse contexts. You learn communication skills and theory with special reference to improving human interaction. It includes all of the core communication courses, and others such as persuasion, effective presentation, intercultural communication, interpersonal communication, group dynamics, and leadership. A minor or second major is required for this major.

International Communication
If you'd like to work in the international arena, then this is the program for you. It includes all core communication courses, as well as courses in anthropology and political science, and other multidisciplinary courses that are chosen in consultation with an advisor. Requirements include participation in the Adventist College Abroad program, the Student Missionary Program or a comparable overseas experience. A second major or minor is not required for this degree.

Communication Management
If managing and being responsible for development and progress interests you, a combination of communication, business, and management will further your goals. This program includes core courses and several upper division courses such as media literacy and organizational communication. Electives are chosen in communication and management (from the School of Business) in consultation with an advisor. An internship in a suitable area is required. A second major or minor is not required.
