ENGINEERING
Are you technically oriented, but also creative and innovative? Do you have exceptional math, science, and computer skills? Do high-tech developments intrigue you? Do you dream of putting your vocational interests and abilities to work for you? If you want to become a professional who works with computers, electronics, or mechanical constructions for the benefit of humanity, a degree in engineering may be the ideal choice for you.
With an engineering degree, you'll be involved with each step in the process of creating, developing, and manufacturing products and services that improve the lives of others. Typically, you'll collaborate with customers, other engineers, computer-aided design software, production personnel, and marketing professionals to turn an idea into a finished product.
COMPUTING
Computing is a scientifically oriented discipline that studies computer architecture and areas of computer applications. Areas of study include artificial intelligence, compilers, computer graphics, computer networks, operating systems, software development, and analytical theory.
Computing majors are challenged to indentify, formulate, and solve engineering and computing problems, and to design and carry out experiments that will support these solutions. They learn to apply the theories of science, mathematics, engineering, and computing in order to creatively design practical and economical solutions to define problems. They also have the opportunities to advance their disciplines through research and internships, addressing contemporary issues.
