China Tour 2006
May 8-25, 2006, the History and Political Science department tour went to China. Students visited the famous Terra Cotta Warriors in Xian, Ming dynasty tombs, the Great Wall, the Summer Palace in Beijing, Chairman Mao's Mausoleum and Tiananmen Square among other sites. They attended an opera performance and a shadow-puppet show, saw panda bears and had morning tai chi lessons. Travel included visits to country farms, Three Gorges Dam River, and an elementary school. They also visited an SDA Church and talked with the monks at a Buddhist temple. Three days in Tibet promoted political discussion and a chance to learn more of the Dalai Lama.
