Graduate Programs
MS: Mathematics and Science:
The Department of Mathematics collaborates with the Departments of
Biology, Chemistry, and Physics in this degree, which is designed for
students who wish to acquire a breadth of knowledge that cannot be
achieved within any one discipline. The degree may be useful for
secondary or middle-school teachers who do not desire a traditional MAT
program; for those who wish to develop skills in areas of overlap in
these disciplines; for those who wish to study the interrelationships
among the disciplines; and for those who wish further preparation for
careers in industry or government. Degree requirements are explained in the
Mathematics and Science web page as well as this FAQ sheet. Inquiries about this program should be directed to Robert Kingman, (269) 471-3431, kingman@andrews.edu.
Mathematics Endorsement Program for Middle School Educators: The Department of Mathematics collaborates with the School of Education
and the Berrien County Regional Education Service Agency (Berrien RESA) to administer the
Alternative Certification Experimental Program (Math Endorsement
Program) for Middle School Educators. Applications to this Program are
initially screened by the School of Education and the Department of
Mathematics, and then go through the regular Andrews admissions
process. Courses are listed under "Mathematics Education." Inquiries
should be directed to Lynelle Weldon, (269) 471-3866, weldon@andrews.edu or Judy Wheeler (269) 471-7725, jwheele@remc11.k12.mi.us.
