Biography:

Professor Maggie Hernandez graduated from Andrews University Dietetic Programs in 1977 (second class since program started) then she received a Master of  Public Health in Nutrition from Loma Linda University in 1982.  Professor Hernandez has varied experiences in the fields of food service management, geriatric, renal and diabetes nutrition.  Her diverse background in clinical nutrition makes her a great teacher in the area of clinical nutrition which she teaches at AU.  She also has her private consulting firm for children that are at risk nutritionally especially from ages 0-3.  She also coordinates the dietetic internship and has great networking abilities.  Her hobbies are walking, gardening and traveling.  She is the mother of two children, ages 14 and 19.
