Biography:

Patricia Dyett, taught High School Food and Nutrition for nine years on the twin Caribbean islands of Trinidad and Tobago.  She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Home Economics from Caribbean Union College (now University of the Southern Caribbean).  Her Master’s degree in Human Nutrition was obtained from Andrews University, Berrien Springs, Michigan, in 1999.  Upon completion of her Master’s degree, she answered a call to serve as Chair (Ag) and then Full-Time Instructor at the Home Economics Department at Caribbean Union College.  In 2001, Patricia was accepted into the Doctoral Program of Public Health Nutrition at Loma Linda University, California, where she was awarded a research scholarship from the McLean Endowment Fund.  At Loma Linda University, she worked as a Research/Teacher Assistant.  Her research and publication activities thus far, have mostly been in the areas of vegetarian nutrition, food intake assessment tools and nutrition adequacy for US vegans.  Dr. Dyett completed her doctoral degree from Loma Linda University in 2005.  Patricia is also a Registered Dietitian, and directed the Undergraduate Dietetics Program at Oakwood University from August 2005 to June 2009.  As of August 1 she serves as Director of the Didactic Program in Dietetics at Andrews University.
