From the Chair

The Department of Religion and Biblical Languages at Andrews University provides majors and general education students with a broad-based knowledge in Bible and theology as well as with practical training for gospel ministry. Academic training is provided by devoted Seventh-day Adventist faculty who seek to inspire and equip students to think deeply, to live fully, and to fulfill the great commission. It is our joy every year to see young people who, after having completed their studies, leave us to render sacrificial service to the Church and the world, whether as dedicated and involved church members or committed denominational employees. However, it is not excellent academic programs or good teachers that make the Department of Religion effective, but the fact that the Master Teacher, Jesus Christ Himself, is in charge of the department. We all are in his business.

If you are a person who has a deep conviction to work for God, the church, and the world in a position of service such as pastoral ministry, then Andrews University Department of Religion  is the right place for you.
