Biography:
Glenn Russell is assistant professor of religion at Andrews University, Berrien Springs, Mich. He joined the Faculty in 1999.Born in Cairo, Egypt, Russell graduated in 1974 from Columbia Union College, Takoma Park, Maryland, with a BA in Theology. He went on to receive his Masters of Divinity from the Andrews University Theological Seminary in 1979. He is currently working on his doctoral studies at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Chicago.
Russell began as a district pastor for the Potomac Conference of Seventh-day Adventists in 1975, and was ordained as a pastor in 1981. From 1985 to 1999, he taught religion at Andrews Academy, in Berrien Springs, Mich.
Russell has led hundreds of students on mission trips and evangelistic series around the world, and has given many seminars and weeks of prayer. He was host of the weekly radio and television program Scriptural Pursuit, broadcast on Hope Channel TV, from 1991 to 2006. In 2005, he was appointed coordinator of overseas mission trips for the campus ministries office at Andrews. In the Summer of 2005, Russell directed the first Andrews undergraduate Global Evangelism campaign, and has taken students to Benin, Zimbabwe, and Kenya to conduct evangelism campaigns. In 2007, he received the �Teacher of the Year� and �Spiritual Life Leadership� awards from Andrews University.
Russell is married to Sharon Savickas Russell, and they have two adult children, Jeremy and Erica.
