Biography:
Ranko Stefanovic is department chair and professor of New Testament on the campus of Andrews University, Berrien Springs, Mich. He joined the faculty in 1999.Born in Croatia, Stefanovic completed his Bachelor of Theology in 1989 and his Masters in Religion in 1990 from the Adventist International Institute of Advanced Studies, Philippines. While pastoring in Croatia in 1978, he was ordained as a Seventh-day Adventist minister.
In 1996, Stefanovic earned his Ph.D. in religion from the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary at Andrews University. The title of his dissertation is: “The Background and Meaning of the Sealed Book of Revelation 5.”
Prior to joining the faculty at Andrews, he served as pastor in his home country what used to be Yugoslavia, from 1970-1988. While there, he conducted numerous evangelistic series. From 1996 until 1999, Stefanovic was associate professor of religious studies and chair of the religious studies department at Canadian University College, Alberta, Canada.
Stefanovic is a recipient of several awards for excellence in teaching:
• “The Daniel A. Augsburger Excellence in Teaching Award” presented by the College of Arts and Sciences, Andrews University, on March 2003.
• “Teacher of the Year Award” presented by Andrews University Student Association, on April 2003.
• “Teacher of the Module” – award presented by the Physical Therapy class of 2004, Andrews University, for excellence in teaching of the Winter Module of 2001
• “The Henry and Harriet Johnson Award For Excellence in Teaching” conferred by Canadian University College on April 1999.
Stefanovic specializes in the book of Revelation. He has conducted seminars and presented several papers on the topic at professional conferences. He has done regularly pier review activities for AUSS, JATS, and Ministry magazine. He is a member of the Society of Biblical Literature, the Chicago Society for Biblical Research, and the Adventist Society of Religious Studies. He is a sought-after speaker and lecturer at theological seminaries, workers meetings, camp meetings, and churches across the globe.
He is married to Estera (Golub) Stefanovic, manager of Lamson Hall at Andrews University. They have a son and a daughter.

BOOKS PUBLISHED:• Revelation of Jesus Christ: Commentary on the Book of Revelation (Berrien Springs, MI: Andrews University Press, 2002). An exegetical commentary on Revelation (a 654-page verse-by-verse commentary on the book of Revelation which is the standard textbook in many Adventist colleges and universities).
