Biography:
Ann-Marie C. Jones is an assistant professor of social work at Andrews University, Berrien Springs, MI. She joined the faculty in 2006. She teaches BSW and MSW courses: Introduction to Social Work and Human Behavior in the Social Environment, Introduction to Counseling Skills, Social Welfare Institutions and Services, Topics: Dealing with Difficult People, and Medical Social Work.
Born in Kingston, Jamaica in 1964 and migrated to Brooklyn, New York in 1973, she graduated from Oakwood College in Huntsville, AL, with a Bachelor's of Social Work degree in 1995. In 1996 she received a Master's degree in social work from the University of Central Florida in Orlando. She completed field work at Florida Hospital in the Case Management Department as part of her master's degree requirements. Ann-Marie Jones completed her doctoral studies in 2007, receiving a Ph.D. in Human Services with an emphasis on management of non-profit agencies from Capella University.
Before joining the Andrews faculty, Ann-Marie Jones worked as a medical social worker in the areas of skilled nursing facilities in Panama City, FL; The Madison County Health Department in Huntsville, AL; Florida Hospital in Orlando, FL and Orlando Regional Healthcare in Orlando, FL respectively.
Dr. Jones is a member of the National Association of Social Workers, Council on Social Work Education, Phi Alpha, and Alpha Chi National Honor Society.
She is married to Earl L. Jones, Jr., a Seminary student here at Andrews University. She has two step daughters, Amber and Jazzmen.
