Born in Memphis, Tennessee and reared in the hills of Mississippi, Jon Rivers started his journey in radio while still enlisted in the Marine Corps. After two years in Vietnam, while stationed near Jacksonville, Florida, Jon spun the tunes overnight at WAPE, the "Mighty 690", whose air talent included Jay Thomas of "Love and War" fame from seven to midnight. When he was discharged from the Corps, Jon went back to Memphis and WMPS to do mornings. He then moved to the DFW Metroplex, and the McLendon "Hybrid" KNUS FM, one of the first among the most successful FM stations in the world. With the exception of a stint at KILT in Houston, and a year at CBN in Virginia Beach, Jon has made DFW home. Jon was VP of Programming of KLTY from early 1989 until August, 2001 and is now with the K-LOVE Radio Network.

The voice of "Brother" Jon has been heard around the world for over 20 years through various outlets including the POWERLINE and TWENTY THE COUNTDOWN MAGAZINE, not to mention numerous TV and Radio Commercials.

Jon and his wife Sherry live 80 miles northwest of Dallas/Ft. Worth, on a spread that houses 26 Morgan Horses, a burro, llama, pot-bellied pig, dog, cat, several chickens, a guinea, and a camel. His love of Morgan horses follows his love of music and Radio. Jon and Sherry show their Morgan horses all around the country, from Texas to Vermont. They bred and raised the World Champion Jr. Reining Horse for 1995 and 1996 and Sherry is the National Champion in Freestyle. Each year they produce and train several rare (old blood line) foals and say after Jesus, Radio, and Family, those beautiful Morgans are their life!
