Bookstore
Griggs Consortium uses textbooks and supplementary materials produced by academic and Christian publishers. Textbooks may be purchased from other sources, but the exact version/edition is necessary to successfully complete the course. With dynamic course development, textbooks and supplies are subject to change at any time. Only materials listed on the order form (Form 2) can be ordered through Griggs. Instructional guides contain all assignments and study helps. All supplies, except those marked optional, are necessary to complete the course.
Griggs Book Returns and Buy-Back Policy
Consult the Consortium Book Returns List of textbooks that may be returned. The bookstore supervisor has full discretion in the acceptance of returned items.
If you wish to return used textbooks upon withdrawal or after completing your program, 30-50% of the current selling price may be offered, depending on textbook condition. Used media (CDs, DVDs), workbooks, lab kits, instructional guides, or other supplies are non-returnable.
If the enrollment is cancelled within the first five business days after the enrollment is processed and the books and supplies are returned to the bookstore unopened and unused, full credit will be given for the books and supplies. If enrollment is cancelled after five business days and supplies are returned unopened and unused, up to 85% of the purchase price (a 15% restocking fee is charged) will be refunded. Credit will not be given for items such as instructional guides, workbooks, and cassettes/CDs/DVDs if the wrapper has been removed or the items have been used.
Griggs does not pay postage for returned books. Address returns to:
Griggs Bookstore Returns, 8903 U.S. Highway 31, Berrien Springs, MI 49104-1950, USA.
Please include the Griggs student number, a list of books returned for each student, and complete mailing address, email and phone number. Do not enclose enrollment forms, payments, cancellation letters, or any communication that does not pertain to the items returned in the package.
Allow 2-4 weeks for the in-house book return process. While you may drop off books, immediate credit for such book returns is not available.
Required textbooks may change without notice. Textbooks must have the identical copyright to be accepted. If a returned book cannot be accepted for any reason, it will be given to the One Planet Recycling Program (which generates funds for the Adventist Development and Relief Agency) unless the customer requests, and pays for, its return within 30 days.
When textbooks returned are accepted, the student’s account will be credited; if no balance is due, a refund check will be sent to the original payee (unless the bookstore is instructed otherwise by the original payee).
Book Discount Policy – Used Books
Used books, if requested on FORM 2 will be supplied whenever available. When new books are not available (e.g. out of print), used books are substituted if the book is a required text for a course you are enrolled in. Your shipping manifest will note whether a book is used (U) or new (N), and the amount you were billed. The shipping/handling fee remains the same for used or new books.
If you paid in full, you will be reimbursed for the used book-discount by the same means you paid (check or credit/debit card). If you paid the minimum due and are making monthly payments, the credit for the used-book discount will be applied to your first monthly payment.
Shipping Griggs Orders
The bookstore selects the best rate for the selected shipping method using private carriers such as UPS, DHL, and FedEx , which provide tracking for shipments. The U.S. Postal Service is used when requested by a student or when a street address with phone number is not provided. Shipments to countries other than the United States or Canada are made by air only. Select the air or expedited rate on the shipping and handling chart on FORM 3. If the total cost of an enrollment order is more than $700, next-day air is required, or specific instructions about shipment are needed, please communicate with the enrollment office for personalized service.
