Job Title: Assistant-Full Professor of Christian Ministry
Classification: [FF] Faculty Full-Time
Department: Christian Ministry
Hours Per Week: full-time
Salary: Commensurate with Experience
Available: January 2010
Primary Duties:
  • Teach Homiletics and other Practical Theology courses in the Seminary
  • Direct field education for Master of Divinity students
  • Train and mentor students from all cultural backgrounds
  • Advise students at the masters and doctoral levels
  • Provide advocacy and leadership in the areas of Homiletics and Ministry to the Seminary, Andrews University, the Seventh-day Adventist Church, and the wider Christian community
  • Carry regular faculty responsibilities related to teaching, research and publication, and service
  • Participate in Seminary and University life and responsibilities
Qualifications:
  • An earned terminal degree (Ph.D., DMin) in Homiletics or Ministry or related discipline.
  • Proven competence in preaching and ministry leadership and respected within the Adventist community
  • Pastoral experience required and teaching experience preferred
  • Record of academic engagement, professional expertise, and an on-going research agenda in Homiletics and Ministry preferred
  • Commitment to mentor students
  • Willingness to assume leadership and administrative responsibilities
  • Skill at fostering good working relationships among colleagues and students
  • Solid support of Seventh-day Adventist principles, beliefs, and mission

  • Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.
