PRESS RELEASE – ISI ResearchSoft Ships EndNote 7 for Windows

Note Macintosh Users: EndNote 7 for Macintosh OS X is scheduled to ship in August. Version 5 is included for OS 9 users.

EndNote 7, the world’s most popular bibliographic software with over a million users, delivers subject bibliographies, flexible image handling and connectivity to explore and mobilize reference collections.

Create a subject bibliography with topic headings instantly
Save steps creating a bibliography with topic headings using EndNote’s new Subject Bibliography. For example, simply select a field such as “author” to view the finished bibliography organized by author headings. Control the look of your subject bibliography by selecting your favorite output style and choosing a sort order and numbering scheme for the references.

Manage and cite images with EndNote and Microsoft Word
Take advantage of EndNote’s new ability to insert a figure or table anywhere in a Microsoft Word document. You can place figures and tables within the text, or create figure and table lists at the end of your document. Now EndNote uses the chart/table reference type to handle tables separately from figures. And there are new output style settings to specify the caption location (above or below) for your figure or table.

Create a bibliography with popular word processors using rich text format (RTF) files
Create bibliographies using StarOffice, OpenOffice, AppleWorks, FrameMaker and more. EndNote 7 scans RTF documents containing temporary EndNote citations and creates a bibliography instantly. You can copy selected references from an EndNote library reference list and paste temporary citations into your document. EndNote 7’s RTF document scan feature provides a status report on unmatched citations and lets you choose any of over 1,000 output styles to create the final bibliography.

Explore new ways to use your EndNote references
- Go mobile with your EndNote library on Palm™ handhelds—access your references anywhere, anytime. Search, edit and beam references then use the HotSync® function to back up your EndNote library to the desktop.
- Locate the full text of articles faster by using OpenURL links to connect to your institution’s online library resources.
- Export references in XML format for posting files to the Web and using with other XML-compatible software.
- Move EndNote reference to data visualization tools—explore research literature visually. Look for a new product—RefViz—coming this summer!

Discover new and updated content files
EndNote 7 expands the ways to collect data from a wide variety of online resources and to publish manuscripts. Edit standard import filters (e.g., RIS, tab delimited, ISI CE) to move data between applications easily. You’ll find new and updated content files—350 connection files, 1000 output styles, as well as import filters and manuscript templates.
