Roundtable 2003 Program
Advisor Appointments
We have set aside Wednesday afternoon, July 16th as a time for advisor appointments. Because of our full schedule, you are encouraged to contact your advisor for an appointment during that time or before the conference and only if you are unable to meet with your advisor any other time of the year.
Poster Session
The 9th Annual Poster Session wants your participation! The poster session, a scholarly activity at major conventions, is where you have a chance to share and get reactions from other scholars. We would like to encourage you take advantage of this opportunity to display your research for your dissertation topics and MA research projects. Tri-fold display boards that are 4 feet wide and 3 feet tall will be provided. Please e-mail Pat Bernard if you plan to participate by June 1 at patbernard@myexcel.com Display tables will be available at the Mendel Center.
Cohort Socials
The annual Cohort Social, held this year on Monday night of the conference, has become one of the most looked-forward-to yearly events. Yearly cohorts will again need to plan an evening of food and fellowship for the Monday evening of Roundtable 2003.
Banquet
The annual banquet, a highlight of every Summer Leadership Conference, takes place on Sunday night, July 13th at 6:30 pm, following the Roundtable Opening Ceremony. Come and see what we have in store for you this year!
If you would like to bring a guest, be sure to fill out the banquet section in Part A when you register. Additional tickets are available for $20 each.
International Flags
One valuable feature of the Leadership program is our ethnic, cultural and international diversity. We would like to emphasize this heritage at the Roundtable. Please indicate in Part C on the web registration form what country/countries we should “fly a flag” to represent you. You can select your country of citizenship, birth, ethnicity, or ancestry.
Location
The Summer Conference, Roundtable 2003, will again be held at the Mendel Center, in Benton Harbor, Michigan. Located about 30 minutes from Andrews University, this conference center provides an environment conducive to the Roundtable experience.
The Mendel Center is located on Napier Avenue, just off Interstate 94, Exit 30, in Benton Harbor, Michigan. Take Napier Avenue east. Turn left on the second entrance to Lake Michigan College; then turn left into the second parking area (just beyond the building).
Transportation
You are responsible for finding transportation to the Mendel Center for RT 2003. If you would like to request that a shuttle bus be provided, contact the University Transportation Office at 800-253-2874, extension 3519 or 269-471-3519.
Lodging
Rooms have again been reserved in Lamson and Meier Halls. Women should call Valerie Phillips at 269-471-6603 or Irene Touchard at 269-471-6602, and men should call Willyta Wamack at 269-471-3397. Be sure to mention you are with Leadership. If you would like to stay on campus with a spouse, you may call 269-471-3295, option 1 to make arrangements or you may e-mail visitors@andrews.edu and also mention that you are a Leadership participant. Other options would be to stay in one of the motels closer to the Mendel Center. There is a directory of off campus accommodations on the web at http://www.andrews.edu/visitors/stay/stay_off.php3. Some motels along I-94 are listed below.
Roundtable 2003 Registration Cost
The 2003 Roundtable Registration Fee is a $395 convention fee which includes meals from Sunday evening, July 13th and breakfasts and lunches from Monday, July 14, through breakfast on Wednesday, July 16th. Additional tickets for the Sunday evening banquet may be purchased for guests through our office at $20 per person. (Monday night suppers are to be planned by the annual cohorts and you are on your own for the Tuesday night supper.)
