Director of Developmental Studies
Stewardship is the key to honing my own talents and those of others, and to practicing a spirit of abundance.
Naomi Ludman is director of Developmental Studies at Southwestern Michigan College, Dowagiac, Michigan. She has a B.A. in English/Secondary Teaching from Asbury College and an M.A. in English from Western Michigan University.
Since attending college, Naomi has been involved in education: from high-school English, to church-school teaching and teacher training, to college teaching and job-skills training, to Head Start home visitor, then back to college teaching, and now to administration.
Naomi's goal is to improve her skills in program evaluation and classroom research so that the faculty and staff of South-western can continuously improve and document what they do and share, through presentations and writing, the results of their work. "My job is ideal. I work directly with students and teachers and with college staff in almost all other departments on campus. And I'm actively involved in basic-skills assessment, instruction, student-support services, as well as administration. I'm part of a team that is highly skilled in working with at-risk, under-prepared college students."
Naomi completed her Ph.D. in Leadership in spring 1998.
