Graduate Certification in Educational Administration The Graduate Certificate in Educational Administration (GCEA) is designed for post-baccalaureate or post-Masters participants who are desirous of obtaining or upgrading skills in certain specialized areas in order to become effective educational administrators. The GCEA requires 12 semester credits that may be later folded into a Masters degree. Coursework for this certificate may be taken online.

for busy educators who do not have an abundance of time to attend campus-based
classes. Therefore, You earn your credits through online class work and internships
which allow you to apply the theory and philosophy of the online class to practical
skills in the field of educational administration. This process is fully and
constantly informed by Interstate Standards set in place for Educational Administrators
Attaining competencies which demonstrate your compliance with these interstate
standards becomes an important aspect of the program. You will begin the program
by attending a orientation where you will learn about the program and receive
guidance for preparing and writing an IDP (Individual Development Plan). The
IDP, describing how you plan to apply the 20 competencies to your area of expertise,
will evolve as a collaboration with your advisor. The development of each competency
will be documented in a professional portfolio, which upon completion is presented
at a formal oral defense. The EdD and PhD also require a dissertation. |
