            1. Description

        1.1 Courses in the curriculum are organized under the following categories:

        • Missiology
        • Anthropology
        • Non-Christian Religions

        1.2 The Ph.D. area of specialization as described in the bulletin.

        • Analysis of the biblical, theological, and theoretical basis for mission
        • Evangelization of unreached people groups and urban population clusters
        • Leadership development for effective church growth, ministry, and
          evangelistic strategies
        • Study of world religions and secularism as a missionary challenge

        1.3 Dissertation Specialties as reported by the Department:

        • Mission History
        • Mission Theology
        • Mission Methods/ Mission Strategies
        • Christianity and Other Religions (Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism,
          Animism/Tribal Religions)
        • Social Aspects and Mission (Poverty, AIDS, etc)
        • Cross-cultural Communications
        • Worldviews

            2. Resources Development Goals

        2.1 Masters Level:

          2.1.1. Standard reference works including the following:
              a. Significant non-Christian religious texts in English
            b. Dictionaries, encyclopedias, and atlases
            c. Aids in sermon preparation
          2.1.2 Graduate level introductory works
          2.1.3 General works supporting the curriculum
          2.1.4 Professional resources
          2.1.5 Spiritual Formation (limited)

        2.2 Doctoral Level:

          1.1.1 Advanced scholarly works that support dissertation specialties,
              primarily in English
          1.1.2 Works of prominent scholars
          1.1.3 Professional resources

              5. Selection

          The World Missions degree programs participate in three fund lines:
          5.1 General: Christian Ministry masters level and professional materials
              of a less technical nature
          5.2 World Missions: doctoral and professional level research materials
          5.3 Standing orders: selected standing orders for continuation series
          and materials from selected major publishers
          5.4. General

          The faculty of the World Missions Department are encouraged to recommend
          titles for the library to purchase, and to indicate whether the title should be
          funded in the Masters level or the Doctoral level fund lines.
