        • Philosophy and Ethics

        1.2 The Ph.D. area of specialization as described in the bulletin.

        • Christian ethics, comprising ethical theory and professional, personal, and
          social ethics
        • Historical theology, examining the origin and development of theological
          concepts and trends
        • Philosophical theology
        • Systematic theology, embracing the biblical and doctrinal aspects of
          theological thought

        1.3 Dissertation Specialties as reported by the Department:

        • Systematic theology
        • Historical theology
        • Christian ethics
        • Philosophical theology

            2. Resources Development Goals

        2.1 Masters Level:

          2.1.1. Standard reference works including the following:
            a. Collected works of leading figures in English
            b. Dictionaries and encyclopedias
            c. Aids in sermon preparation
          2.1.2. Graduate level introductory works
          2.1.3. General works supporting the curriculum
          2.1.4. Spiritual Formation (limited)

        2.2 Doctoral Level:

          1.1.1 Advanced scholarly works that support dissertation specialties,
              including titles in English, German, and French.
          1.1.2 Works of prominent scholars
          2.2.3 Primary texts and source materials

            5. Selection

        The Theology and Christian Philosophy Department participates in five fund lines:

        5.1 General: Church History/Theology masters level materials
        5.2 Theology doctoral level research materials
        5.3 Standing orders materials from selected publishers and selected continuation
            series
        5.4 Focused Strengths: Religion and Science
        5.5 Focused Strengths: Seventh-day Adventist Topics
        5.6 General The faculty of the Theology and Christian Philosophy Department are encouraged
        to recommend titles for the library to purchase, and to indicate whether the title
        should be funded in the Masters level or the Doctoral level fund lines.
