Hiring Procedure
for Student Assistants
- Job Openings are
advertised on the Library Job Notice Board, at Student Labor (both on
their job board and on HR's
website). Applications are taken by the office manager only when
there is a job notice on the board.
- If you wish to
apply for a particular job, arrange to take the computer tests at Student
Labor as soon as possible (Step 1).
- Step 2, bring
the the test results to the Office Manager in the director's office.
Step 3, after reviewing your test results, the Office Manager will give
you an application. Step 4, after filling out the application, please
bring it back to the Office Manager. The Office Manager will circulate
your application to the appropriate library departments.
- If you are considered
for the job, you will be contacted for an interview.
- When the job has
been filled, the job notification will be removed from the Job Notice
Board as well as from Student Labor.
- It is the applicant's
responsibility to check on the status of any job. The Director's office
will not notify you when the job has been filled.
- Applications will
be held for six months. After this time, applications will be tossed
unless you (the applicant) come in to renew your application before
the end of the six month period.
