The Media Center includes the following collections.

gold bullet Elementary and Secondary Textbooks

These circulate for three weeks.

gold bullet Fastback Pamphlet Collection

This collection, produced by Phi Delta Kappa, is on a variety of current topics in education. They circulate for three weeks.

gold bullet Reference

This collection includes children's encyclopedias, video locator, elementary textbook locator, dictionaries and a Bible. Older editions of encyclopedias circulate for three weeks.

gold bullet Reserve

This includes textbooks used in Seventh-day Adventist elementary and secondary schools in the Lake Union Conference. Second copies circulate for one day. A small collection of books of interest to educators is on permanent reserve.

gold bullet Youth Reserve Collection

This collection supports the literature classes in the Department of Education. Circulation is for one week during the term the class is taught, but is for three weeks during the remainder of the year.

gold bullet Religous Pamphlet Files

Pamphlets are filed by subject area.

gold bullet Maps

The Media Center has large format (22 inch x 27 inch) maps from the United States Geological Survey (USGS). These maps are primarily at a scale of 1:24,000 plus a few in other scales. USGS maps cover the states of Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, and Wisconsin. In addition there are a large number of international maps of varying scales and sizes. A file drawer with folded maps is also available.

gold bullet Files The Media Center also contains several specialized files.

Art Files Generally pictures of classic art including some pictures of sculptures.
Catalogs File General catalogs covering equipment, teaching material, books and other supplies. There is a separate file covering just video catalogs
Craft File Craft projects for young and old arranged by type of material used in construction
Pattern File Patterns from newsletters, coloring books, and single sheets. Used for creating bulletin boards.
Picture File A large collection of pictures filed by subject.
Poem File Poems from newsletters and others sources. Generally 1-2 typed pages for each poem. Filed by subject.
Story File Short stories collected from newsletters and other sources. Each is generally 2-3 typed pages. Filed by subject.
