About Lamson Hall
Lamson Hall, Andrews University's residence hall for undergraduate women, offers students the comfort and convenience of on-campus housing while providing a nurturing and supportive home-away-from-home atmosphere. The 500+ women living here bring community to the college experience. Lamson Hall staff are dedicated to the spiritual, physical, and mental well-being of each resident. In fact, they think of Lamson Hall as a "learning lab," where residents are encouraged to acquire crucial and transferrable life skills such as patience and perseverance, overcoming prejudice, putting faith into practice, and learning to transform challenges into opportunities.
Lamson Hall itself is constructed of two adjacent buildings. The first, built in 1948, is comprised mainly of double-occupancy rooms with community restrooms and showers on each hall. We call this East. Constructed in 1967 to meet the needs of increasing enrollment, the second side, which we call West, consists primarily of suites--two double-occupancy rooms sharing a bathroom. Regardless of the location of your room, you can expect it to be furnished with regular twin-sized beds, built-in bookshelves and desks, chairs, closet with shelving, and mirrors. If you live on East hall, additional furnishings include a sink and medicine cabinet.
