Checking In and Out
Please do not plan to check in/out during our Sabbath hours (sunset Friday through sunset Saturday) as we consider these hours holy, and days in which not to do unecessary work.
If you arrive between the hours of 11 pm and 6 am, please call ahead to alert us to your travel plans.
You must have completed the following processes before you can move into University housing:
- Acceptance to AU
- Residence Hall Application
- Financial Clearance
- You must be officially fiancially cleared for the semester bfore moving in. For information regarding your financial status, click the financial clearance link on your iVue or preVue page, or call your financial advisor at 269.471.3334.
- Residence Hall Deposit
- A room deposit is required when you apply to live in a residence halls. This deposit is currently $200, and is refundable to your AU account after you properly check-out for the last time. Should you decide not to reside in University Towers, and you fail to cancel your room request before the application deadline (approximately 30 days prior to the adacemic term); or should you fail to move in by the night before the first day of classes, your room assignment will canceled and your deposit forfeited. (we need to know what spaces can be used for unexpected arrivals!)
If you are required to arrive prior to your scheduled check in time due to work obligations, you must do the following:
Schedule your check in time in advance with the Housing Coordinator.
If your department has offered to reimburse your early arrival daily charges, you must submit your request to your deparment once the charges appear on your statement.
When you check out, everything should be clean enough for the nexct person to move straight in.... with their Mom's approval :) Please plan cleaning details with your room/suite mates to avoid fines. Follow the details indicated at the top of this page to check out properly and avoid fines.
Your semester term rent covers you though the last day of finals only. Should you remain in residence longer, you will be assessed additional daily rent charges. Students who live in the residence hall fall semster, and remain in residence for spring semester will not be charged the additional interm chaarges. But if you do not continue living in the dorm for spring term, daily rate charges will apply for each day lived in the dorm beyond fall term finals: we need those spaces for spring session arrivals.
Daily rate charges will apply for all students remaining in the dorm beyond spring term finals, or graduation weekend for graduating students, as May Express and summer session students will be ariving and needing housing.
If you have additional questions please contact your Dean or Deans' Assistant.
