MyTown
MyTown Ministries is an opportunity for students to make a social and spiritual impact in our neighboring city of Chicago. Through MyTown, a volunteer will experience the history, sites, and unique individuals that make Chicago a great city to live in, while working within a team to implement new and innovative methods to "Touch Everyone for Jesus".
MyTown provides students an experience to "affirm faith and change the world" by providing a professional internship in their discipline.
Event Description:
MyTown Ministries is seeking to minister to refugee kids in Chicago through World Relief (www.wr.org) a faith based organization which seeks to work with, for and from the Church to relieve human suffering, poverty and hunger worldwide in the name of Jesus Christ.
On Sabbath, April 12, MyTown Ministries will be reaching to the children of refugee families through a children's ministries program. This program will include gospel music, Bible teaching, and drama.
We are seeking volunteers who would be willing to use their talents to help through music, Bible teaching, small group leading or drama.
We will be having a volunteers meeting on April 3rd or 4th (to be confirmed) to give each volunteer a resource pack for the event. This will also be an opportunity to share the vision of this event and get acquainted with other MyTown Ministries volunteers.
To register your interest please send an email to mytown@andrews.edu along with a quick detail of which part of the program interests you (eg, music, teaching, small group leader or drama).
Note that transportation will be provided but seating is limited!!!
