Providing Safety Patrol 24 hours a day - 7 days a week
Andrews University maintains a full-time, 24 hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week Department of Public Safety. All uniformed officers and dispatchers have gone through comprehensive departmental training and provide patrols of all residence halls, academic buildings (on and off campus), and campus parking areas. All officers are trained in emergency response procedures, first aid, CPR, and crisis intervention.
The Department of Public Safety is responsible for the enforcement of the National Fire Protection Association Life Safety Codes. The Department has developed community policing, prevention programs and strategies to support a safe and secure academic environment. In doing so, the Department of Public Safety seeks to preserve an environment where diverse social, cultural, and academic values are allowed to develop and prosper.
