Our Mission
 

The mission of the Department of Educational and Counseling Psychology is to:

  • Prepare professional psychologists, counselors, and learning specialists who are committed to excellence and world-wide service 
  • Provide training based on a Christian worldview and philosophy that promotes the balanced development of the mental, physical, social, and spiritual nature of persons 
  • Respect human diversity and the uniqueness of each person as one created by God
  • Uphold the principles of Scripture as a guide for interpersonal relations. 
Our Accreditation

Andrews University is accredited by the North Central Association of Schools and Colleges. In addition the MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and MA in School Counseling programs are accredited by The Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP), the MA in School Counseling is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE), the MA in School Counseling and the EdS in School Psychology have state-approved (Michigan) certification and NASP - approval from the National Association of School Psychologists; and the PhD in Counseling in Psychology is listed in the National Register of Psychology Training Programs.
