Behavioral and Educational Assessment
The selection, administration, and scoring of standardized and non standardized educational and behavioral measures within a Response to Intervention/problem-solving model, for remediation for diagnostic and placement purposes. Emphasis will be placed on connecting assessment with intervention strategies. Current issues in educational assessment pertaining to the classroom and students with special needs, including those of English language learners, will be addressed. Students are also required to register for EDPC651 PO3 which is the 50-hour practicum lab portion of this class. Lab fee required. Prerequisites: EDPC514, 644 and 652 or permission of instructor. Cognitive Assessment
The selection, administration, and scoring of standardized individual measures of cognitive abilities for assessment and diagnosis of intellectual ability. Emphasis will be placed on accurate, standardized administration of the most widely used intelligence tests throughout the life span. Current issues in the conceptualization of intelligence and assessment pertaining to students/adults with special needs will be addressed. Students are also required to register for EDPC652 PO4.
