2nd Annual Leadership Conference a Success

The College of Education & International Services's Department of Leadership hosted its 2nd Annual Leadership Conference, which took place Friday, July 20, through Monday, July 23, 2012, at the Howard Performing Arts Center on the campus of Andrews University. An outgrowth of the Annual Roundtable Conference that students in the Leadership Program have been attending since the 1990s, the Leadership Conference was started last year to provide an opportunity for students, staff, and faculty from other departments, as well as the general public, to hear lectures by world-class leadership experts. Participants enjoyed keynote speaker Daniel Goleman, best-selling author of the book Emotional Intelligence.

In addition to the main conference, there were two days of pre-conference workshops and plenary sessions, featuring Richard Blackaby, co-author of the book Spiritual Leadership, as well as presentations by many others on various aspects of spiritual leadership. The conference was co-sponsored by the Office of the Graduate Dean, the Department of Leadership, the Christian Leadership Center, and the Journal of Applied Christian Leadership.
