I first expressed interest in ministry to my grandmother at age five because minister had to work only one day out of the week. Until 5 or 6 grade I always talked about growing up to be a pastor. I used to do my own Sabbath afternoon church services from my mother and brother. I was highly affirmed for y desire. By junior high I was so into sports I decided I wanted to get into coaching and even left High school and enrolled at Loma Linda in physical education. Then at the beginning of the summer one of my Academy teachers asked my why I was going to spend my life in sports when it was clear that God was calling me to the ministry. That began a long summer of my trying to run from God. Finally to “get Him off my back” I submitted which He confirmed in a miraculous way through His Spirit that Sabbath. I have move forward with purpose and direction ever since.
