Biography:

Derek Morris currently serves as senior pastor of the Forest Lake Church in Apopka, Florida, and as an adjunct professor of preaching at Southern Adventist University. He also serves as an adjunct professor for the Andrews University Doctor of Ministry program. From 1987-2001, he served as a professor of preaching and pastoral theology at Southern Adventist University. His greatest joy is found in helping people to experience a life-changing encounter with the Lord Jesus Christ. He has completed a Doctor of Ministry in Practical Theology from Andrews University and a Doctor of Ministry in Preaching from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He has published extensively in MINISTRY magazine, particularly in regards to effective biblical preaching. He is the author of Powerful Biblical Preaching, published by the General Conference Ministerial Association. Derek is married to Bodil Chen Morris, a family nurse practitioner. They have two sons, Christopher, a dental student at Loma Linda University School of Dentistry, and Jonathan, a cardiac nurse and nursing student at Southern Adventist University.

Current Research or Professional Activities:

Derek's favorite hobby is writing Scripture songs with his wife Bodil. They have recorded 6 CDs which are heard on 200 radio stations nationwide.
